Le Foulon is very lucky to not suffer from mosquitoes. Sure, you may experience the odd one or two, but these seem to have blown in from elsewhere.
To be able to sleep with a window open, letting in the cool night air and the sound of the river, sends you off into a deep and undisturbed sleep.
We're not sure of the science behind our bite-free advantage as even the village just 4kms away has it's fair share. Perhaps it's because all the water here is fairly fast flowing year round? Or may be the temperature in mid-winter drops enough to kill the larvae? Who knows, but what's for certain is that not having to deal with mosquitoes on a hot summer holiday is a real bonus.
